We are located in Bethany Beach, Delaware. Our sunrise yoga classes are held off Garfield Parkway (the south beach entrance)where Garfield Parkway meets the ocean. We practice directly on the sand - steps away from the ocean!
No, we do not have a physical studio. We hold beach yoga classes throughout the summer. Private classes are available throughout the year on location where we bring the yoga to you - beach, yard, deck, outdoor, indoor, etc. - at a time that works for you.
No reservations are needed for our beach yoga classes open to the public. Just show up a few minutes early to sign in.
Our classes run 60 minutes long. Private classes may run longer.
Our regular classes are $15 per person. Please bring exact cash. (Some teachers accept other types of payments, such as Venmo or PayPal) For pricing on private classes, visit: https://www.bethanybeachyoga.com/private-classes.html
Email is not required, however, we would love to send you a newsletter once or twice a year with updated information and resources. You can also sign up for our newsletter through our contact page. (We do not provide, sell, share, or rent our email list.)
All levels of experience are welcome and our classes are accessible for all ages and abilities. Our instructors can offer variations and modifications for beginners to advanced yogis for each pose to suit your ability.
Absolutely! Beginners are welcome and no yoga experience is necessary. Please let the instructor know if you are new to yoga so they can offer modifications to various poses if needed.
Traditional yoga classes like ours start with a centering, breathwork, and or meditation. Each of our classes has a unique flow of stretches, balance poses and a variety of yoga poses, ending with deep relaxation in Savasana (resting pose).
Please seek the advice or medical clearance from your healthcare provider if uncertain. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury is always present and can not be fully eliminated. Students resume full responsibility for their participation in our classes/events. Please let the instructor know if you have any injuries, special conditions, etc.
That’s OK - just do your best and pace yourself. If you feel uneasy at any time, simply sit out a pose, modify the pose to suit your ability or rest in Child's Pose.
No worries! We know that life happens. Lay down your mat and join us anyway. See teacher after class to sign in and pay.
For beach yoga, we recommend bringing a large beach towel, sheet or blanket. Some students prefer to use only the sand as their mat. Other suggested items to bring: drinking water, sunglasses or a hat (as you'll be facing the sun), any yoga props you’d like to use (blocks work well in the sand!). You may also want to wear layers for early morning or evening classes.
Yes! We welcome children and families.
There are plenty of public parking spaces available on Garfield Parkway in the early morning and the parking meters are turned off until 10am (and after 11pm) from May 15 through September 15. Parking is free the remainder of the year. (Please check and read all street signs before parking.)
Yes! There are plenty of bike racks nearby on the corners of Garfield Parkway and N. Atlantic Avenue by Kohr Brothers and Bethany Beach Books.
Just wear any comfortable clothing (yoga clothes, athletic gear, etc.) and yoga is practiced without shoes.
Yes. Public restrooms are located on Garfield Parkway behind the Boardwalk Bandstand.
A foot washer is located at Garfield Parkway (the south beach entrance). Full beach showers are located along the Boardwalk at Parkwood Street and Campbell Place.
Our outdoor classes are weather permitting. Classes will be cancelled if it rains heavily or if the forecast calls for other inclement weather (high winds, thunder, lightning, cold temps, etc.). When the tide is extremely high on the beach or for other special circumstances, we may move class to the Boardwalk Bandstand - still within view of the ocean.
Yes. Each of our teachers are certified through various national and/or international yoga programs and are registered with Yoga Alliance - the largest nonprofit association representing yoga teachers and yoga teacher training standards in the U.S. Our instructors rotate the days they teach and each brings a unique style and aspect of the study of yoga to their classes. Additionally, each instructor is individually insured.
